The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is an academic research communication competition developed by , Australia.
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is an international academic research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland, Australia. It is held in over 900 universities across more than 85 countries worldwide.
Competitors must distill their 80,000 word research project into a three minute presentation to a non-specialist audience. 3MT competitors must effectively explain their research aims and its significance to broader society in no more than three minutes for a chance to win seed funding. The winner of the University of Canberra Final progresses to the Asia-Pacific semi-final, hosted by the University of Queensland.
This competition celebrates the exciting and cutting-edge research developed by PhD students. The training and exposure that participation provides helps competitors to cultivate their research communication skills and the extend the reach of their research impact.
