Citizen Centred Justice Legal ClinicThe Citizen Centred Justice Legal Clinic (CCJ) is a not-for-profit health-justice partnership, legal practice, and registered association which operates on-campus in collaboration with the University of Canberra Medical and Counselling Centre (UCM&CC). CCJ provides pro bono legal support, assistance, advocacy, and referral services for clients referred from the UCM&CC, UC students and UC staff,  as well as on an ad hoc basis to other vulnerable clients who may be referred to the Clinic from other sources. CCJ is run by lawyers supported by UC law students who are gaining legal practice experience towards their legal qualification. The service is a free and confidential legal service.CCJ is a by-appointment legal advice clinic located on the Bruce campus of the University of Canberra. It is open for appointments on Wednesdays. CCJ is located in Building 1, Level B, adjacent to the UC Medical & Counselling Centre. You can book a face-to-face or telephone appointment through the University's Medical & Counselling Centre by telephoning 02 6201 2351. When booking, let our receptionist staff know if you prefer a face-to-face or telephone appointment. Bookings need to be made by telephone, not by direct email to the CCJ. When you arrive for your appointment, you will need to check-in at the UCM&CC and complete some paperwork. 

Have you always wanted to try boxing but have no idea where to start? This is the perfect class for beginners or intermediate boxers to put on mitts and start punching the bags. With a mix of cardio and technique-based boxing movements, this class is both fun and challenging! Grab your running shoes and join us every Thursday morning for a run, jog or walk by the lake, followed by free coffee and chats!Running for Resilience (R4R) was started by Matt Breen 10 years after his father's suicide, with the goal of saving one life. It began as a one-off run from The Dock, aiming to bring people together to support each other and promote mental health through exercise.R4R has now grown into four weekly events attended by over 500 runners and walkers. R4R's mission is to make the ACT suicide-free by 2033, by making it easier for people to exercise with friends and build strong, supportive communities.R4R-UC kicks off every Thursday at 8.30am from The Coffee Grounds UC for a 3km walk or 5-6km jog.

Each week the Institute of Applied Ecology hosts a seminar on a broad range of topics, such as environmental management, genetics, water science, ecotoxicology and conservation ecology. Speakers are drawn from external organisations and research institutions, as well as IAE researchers and students.The seminars are open to the public, and are held most Friday's at 12:30pm - 1:30pm in Building 1, Level A, Room 21.

This presentation will describe projects exploring how findings from robotic musicianship can extend into general AI and the robotics industry. The first project, Emotional Musical Prosody, embeds musical phrases into industrial robotics for improved trust and collaboration. The second project describes a system for an interactive rapping robot and the implications for expert human robot interaction. The final project describes a new system for robotic musical practice and the implications for robot development. All are welcome!BioRichard Savery is a developer of artificial intelligence and robotics, using music and creativity as a medium to program better interactions, understandings and models. He is currently a Macquarie University Research Fellow, focused on developing a rapping and drumming interactive robot. He was recently awarded a DECRA fellowship (2025-2027), focusing on robots and AI in long-term use and groups. His research has received $3.8 million in funding and significant industry partnerships. His work has been featured in Scientific American, BBC Radio and Disney +. There is a question at the heart of Faith Crisis Pt 1, the third album from Sydney’s emotive indie trio Middle Kids. Co-produced by Tim Fitz and Jonathan Gilmore (The 1975, Beabadoobee), Joy and bandmates Fitz and Harry Day masterfully express the sensation of being overwhelmed, swept up and dragged down in songs that exalt and lift you higher.Featuring a collaboration with Gang of Youths frontman Dave Le’aupepe, Faith Crisis Pt 1 is brimming with yearning, angst, pop brightness, belief in love and reassurance that even from the bottom, it’s possible to believe in beautiful things. Middle Kids‘ last album Today We’re The Greatest won Best Rock Album at the 2021 ARIA Awards. Released at the height of the pandemic, the album garnered the band several US TV show performances including Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Late, Late Show with James Cordon.Middle Kids first gained attention in 2017 with their debut single, ‘Edge Of Town’ and their debut album, Lost Friends, which won Triple J’s Best Australian Album Award in 2018. The success of their albums has also earned the band an international touring profile which has included supporting shows with the likes of Bloc Party, Kings of Leon, War on Drugs and Cold War Kids and festivals such as The Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, Osheaga Festival and many more.
