InclusionUC
If you are a student with a disability and/or ongoing health condition, the InclusionUC team can provide you with specialised support and information to facilitate equal participation in your educational journey at UC. This support is guided by the Disability Standards for Education (2005) and focuses on a strengths-based, personalized approach to ensure you make the most of your skills and capabilities and to help you succeed.
All interactions with InclusionUC are strictly confidential so you can be confident your information will not be shared with anyone.
Supports and adjustments
The InclusionUC team can provide a range of supports and reasonable adjustments ranging from:
- Extensions for assessment due dates
- Attendance and participation consideration for classes
- Test and exam modifications, such as additional time
- Assistive Technology support and tutorials
- Materials in alternative formats
- AUSLAN interpreters
- Placement or WIL support
Any support provided will be documented on a Reasonable Adjustment Plan (RAP) and will be informed by the medical documentation you provide. To better understand the impact your health condition and/or disability has on your studies, your RAP will be developed in consultation with you.
Once finalised, the RAP is distributed to your unit convenors so the academic can discuss any queries they may have about the implementation of the adjustments.
