Students will demonstrate a fundamental understanding of exercise prescription as it pertains to a general population. Students will demonstrate their ability to design and implement appropriate exercise sessions based on appropriate assessments of the client and established evidence-based practice. Students will be able to teach correct technique within foundation movements involved in exercise programs including resistance exercise and flexibility. Students will be taught the underpinning principles required to program for health and wellness.
1. Apply foundation exercises and movement skills safely using appropriate coaching frameworks;
2. Analyse how field and lab-based testing protocols inform exercise program design in a general population; and
3. Design appropriate exercise sessions to enhance physical fitness in a general population.
